Sasa Kerkos is a collaboration initiator, working on a diverse range of projects that can improve creative and innovative ideas to build more tolerant, sustainable and open environments. She works towards open knowledge exchange. She is an initiator of the Slovenian contemporary illustration platform – the Independent Biennial (www.bienaleneodvisnih.com ) – supporting creative youth communities and Design Biotop ( www.designbiotop.si ) platform for advocating design as the driving force behind societal and economic change. Sasa’s background in visual communication, concept development and creative direction allows her to work cross-fields in multi-disciplinary teams on various topics. At the moment she is researching emotions, compassion and empathy in design and how they can influence design and creative processes. Her workshops and lectures have been hosted at leading institutions and events including Pratt and Parsons NYC, AALTO Helsinki, Royal College of Art London, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Amsterdam and elsewhere. Her creative learning –to-learn methods are also used working with underprivileged youth in Bali (Widhya Asih Orphanage) together with Stella’s Child Entrepreneurship program. She currently lives and works between Ljubljana, Helsinki and Bali.
