The power of a compassionate mind
for happiness and success

In November 2015 a unique event took place in the Academiegebouw in Utrecht: The MIND Conference! This event aimed to inspire students and young professionals to explore the value of compassion in today's world. As one of the first European conferences on compassion for young people, it responds to the growing need for empathy, authenticity and collaboration in our fast-paced society.

The MIND conference offers new perspectives on how the wish to contribute can become a motivation for everything we do. A compassionate motivation does not only benefit the other but yourself as well, bringing us happiness and success.

Inspiring speakers from the science and business world presented how they have integrated compassion in their personal and professional life. During the workshops you will experience for yourself what it is to practice compassion. The conference is a day to explore what compassion means to you and how you can bring these new insights into practice. A kinder, happier and more human world is not out of reach!

Why mind?
Scientists are increasingly interested in researching human consciousness but there seems to be more to mind than only the brain. This conference highlights both the emotional and cognitive aspects of a compassionate mind. We need both empathy and reason in order to be able to respond to the challenges we face in daily life.

Why compassion?
We all want to live a happy and meaningful live but everybody faces difficulties. By realizing our common humanity we feel more connected to others. Acting from a compassionate mindset can be a powerful force to bring positive change. Good news: qualities of the human mind such as compassion, altruism and empathy can be cultivated. Kindness is a choice!

Be the change you wish to see in the world
